The Agape House Mission Statement
The Agape House, Inc. is a non-denominational ministry creating neutral ground where Christ-centered churches can work side-by-side to reach a unique population of our local community. Our mission is to serve God and the community by allowing the love of Christ to shine through us. Those who benefit from these services have been homeless on a long term or short term basis as well as people in need.
The Clothing Ministry supplies free clothing in good condition, toiletry items and additionally providing a free laundry service. The Food Pantry bridges the gap during the third week of the month by distribute groceries, paper goods and soaps. Our Christian based addiction services will have weekly meetings under the guidance of God's word to help with all that are suffering from all forms of hurts, habits and hang-ups. Life Skills Training empowers the community with teaching budgeting, laundry, cleaning, connecting with social services, filling out job applications correctly, writing and building resumes, interviewing skills and job search.
The Day Center provides a warm or cool safe environment that is judgement free with snacks and a location for personal relationships to be formed to assess where The Agape House could fill a need. Outreach Ministry will continue to be the feet on the street and to develop relationships and encourage those in need and the community to utilize The Agape House. Furniture Ministry will distribute furniture and small appliance free of charge as the homeless attain housing.
Items distributed will be free of charge to those in need from donations. Computers and equipment will also be donated for use. The volunteer staff has a skill set to encourage, empower and guide those in the community to learn the grace and mercy of God and give a hand up and not just a hand out.
